March 2017
At the same date and venue as the Melbourne International Coffee Expo on 30 March – 1 April 2017, Australian International Tea Expo was held. Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) Sydney and the Consulate of Republic Indonesia in Melbourne supported Bukit Sari tea plantation exhibiting their organic tea products.
Bukit Sari organic tea farms are located in three regencies (counties) in West Java Province, Indonesia, with a planted area of 3,500 hectares (8,650 acres). The farms were established in the 1920s during the Dutch colonial period. Beginning in 1943, they were transferred to government and private interests.
In 1973, our company brought them together under single ownership. A major portion was converted to organic production between 2004 and 2007.
