ITPC Sydney Promotes Australian Fashion Market Opportunities During the Covid-19 Pandemic

[NEWS] The Director of ITPC Sydney, Ayu Siti Maryam, discussed the ease of facilities that can be utilized by fashion industry players to penetrate the global market amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, especially for the Australian market, during the Go Fashion webinar event on June 12, 2021.

Go Fashion is a capacity building, networking and opportunity program for fashion industry players (designers and makers) consisting of 8 webinars and 6 learning videos. This event is sponsored by Australia Award through the Alumni Grant Scheme.

“Webinar #1: Global Fashion Market Opportunities during the Covid-19 Pandemic” is one of the 8 webinar series of Go Fashion program that discusses the facilities and opportunities that can be utilized by fashion industry players.

As a speaker, Ayu Siti Maryam explained the convenience of the IA-CEPA agreement between Indonesia and Australia in the fashion sector and fashion supporting products, as well as consumer preferences and a portrait of the fashion product market in Australia.

In addition, speaker Amalia Sosrodiredjo as Chair of Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC) brought the theme Australia Fashion Market Outlook. He provides an overview of fashion needs in Australia, fashion market opportunities and facilities provided by the Indonesian government and AIBC to assist fashion industry players in Indonesia.

“ITPC Sydney Shares Information on Potential Coffee Exports to Australia in the Export Coffee Day Dialogue Initiated by the West Java Disperindag”

During 2020, West Java coffee exports to Australia continued to increase until Australia was ranked second as the highest coffee export destination.

This was revealed in the “Export Coffee Day: Relaxing Chat with West Java Coffee, Exploring Potentials to Australia and Japan” which was initiated by the Industry and Trade Office of West Java Province. The event, which was held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, virtually discussed opportunities, potentials, constraints and procedures for coffee exports to Australia and Japan.

Director of ITPC Sydney, Ayu Siti Maryam, explained the coffee market in Australia and how this opportunity could be exploited by Indonesian MSME players. Moreover, the IA CEPA agreement between Indonesia and Australia facilitates the export of Indonesian products to Australia through the elimination of import tariffs. “The opportunity for the coffee market in Australia is quite large because the culture of drinking coffee here is quite high,” said Ayu.

The event, which was organized by the West Java Disperindag, was opened by Mrs. Rini Cempaka, the Director of Foreign Trade of the West Java Disperindag, and presented a resource person, Ayu Siti Maryam (Director of ITPC Sydney), RM. Dicky Farabi (Director of ITPC Osaka), Ponirin Sugito (Expert on the Implementation of International Trade Agreement Results of the FTA Center), and Miftahudin (Chairman of the Gunung Luhur Berkah Producers Cooperative Bandung / Hofland Coffee).
