Maximize IA CEPA, ITPC Sydney synergizes with Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney to facilitate business matching of Indonesian SMEs with importers in Australia

(Sydney, 15 April 2021) – ITPC Sydney partners, we collaborated with Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney, held a business matching session at the Indonesia – Australia SMEs Promotion Event on Thursday, 15 April 2021. This online event brought together eight SME products food and home decor from Indonesia with five diaspora importers in Australia.

The event was opened by the Indonesian Consul General in Sydney, Heru H. Subolo, who welcomed this event to encourage more export shipments of Indonesian products and services. “The four enabling factors for Australia as Indonesia’s export destination are proximity, the IA CEPA comprehensive strategic partnership, the concept of economic powerhouse, and many platforms for cooperation with Indonesia,” he said. Furthermore, he added that the program synergy, which has been running since 2020, will become the flagship program of the Indonesian Consulate General, ITPC Sydney, and Bank Indonesia.

The Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Dody Budi Waluyo, hopes that positive results will be obtained from this business matching and open opportunities for wider cooperation in opening up economic activities and benefits for various parties. “We hope that Indonesian SMEs can go global, go export, and go digital,” he added.

Director of ITPC Sydney, Ayu Siti Maryam, guided a business matching session between five Australian importers: Anthony Auwyang (Sony Trading), Suliyanti Sunaryo (Eastern Cross), Mohammad Rohmat (Import Station), Lilias (Cendani Sydney), and Kestity Pringgoharjono (Axezia) with eight MSMEs assisted by Bank Indonesia: Sepiring Indonesia, Base Artisan, Niki Enak, Palemcraft, Moys, Songgajah, Narata, and Macoa.

After listening to the pitching presentation, importers and SME owners also discussed. The business matching event was closed by Arief Hartawan, Director of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Beijing. “Hopefully we can encourage more Indonesian SMEs to go international to Australia,” he concluded.
